On April 16th, the fifth and final Just 1 Life event of the 2023/2024 school year took place in the National Opera House in Wexford. Just 1 Life is a road safety initiative run by The Rotary Club of Wexford in partnership with Wexford County Council.
Over 400 students from CBS Wexford, CBS New Ross, Coláiste Abbáin, Good Counsel New Ross, Kennedy College and St. Mary’s New Ross attended the event. Members of An Garda Síochána, The National Ambulance Service, Wexford Fire Service and Wexford General Hospital gave graphic, thought provoking and emotional presentations highlighting the often harrowing consequences of poor decision making regarding driving and road safety. In this school year alone over 2,000 students from more than 24 schools and youth groups have participated in the Just 1 Life programme.
As this event concludes our Just 1 Life programme for this school year, The Rotary Club of Wexford wants to express it thanks and appreciation to Wexford County Council and the participation and support of An Garda Síochána, The National Ambulance Service, Wexford County Fire Service, Wexford General Hospital and the Wexford Mental Health Association.
A further five Just 1 Life events are already scheduled for the 2024/2025 and The Rotary Club of Wexford will be getting in touch with secondary schools in the county to once again schedule another group of their student’s attendance at this critical event.
