Just 1 Life, a road safety programme run by The Rotary Club of Wexford, in partnership with Wexford County Council, won the All Ireland Best Community Transport Initiative award at the All Ireland Community and Council Awards 2025.
Launched in Wexford in 2006 the Just 1 Life programme has seen well over 20,000 students from throughout the county attend this event over the years. In the 2024/2025 school year over 2,000 students from every secondary school in County Wexford will attend Just 1 Life events, which are held in the National Opera House in Wexford town. At each event students hear compelling and powerful presentations from An Garda Síochána, Wexford Mental Health Association, National Ambulance Service, Wexford County Fire Service and an A&E Consultant from Wexford General Hospital.
At the core of the Just 1 Life programme is the partnership between The Rotary Club of Wexford and Wexford County Council. The Rotary Club of Wexford would like to thank the team at Wexford County Council for this invaluable partnership down the years and look forward to a continued fruitful and beneficial relationship, bringing the Just 1 Life message to more students in the county in the years ahead. The Rotary Club of Wexford would also like to thank all the various organisations that present at Just 1 Life events and the National Opera House for the use of this excellent venue.
