Wexford Rotary needs your help.
We will be collecting in the Bullring and at Pettitts on the Quay in Wexford Town on Saturday, 16th May from 10 am onwards.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that provides temporary shelter and lifesaving supplies to those in need of emergency shelter. Rotary give global support to Shelterbox and the Rotary network is the cornerstone that Shelterbox is built on. Working in collaboration with each other and with other organisations worldwide, Shelterbox can overcome the major logistical challenges that arise and deliver the essentials people need to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of a disaster.
ShelterBoxes typically contain a disaster relief tent for a family, thermal blankets and groundsheets, water storage and purification equipment, solar lamps, cooking utensils, a basic tool kit, mosquito nets and a children’s activity pack. Since the devastating earthqualke in Nepal, ShelterBox’s logistics team have worked round the clock to transport aid into Kathmandu and surrounding areas. In some villages 95% of buildings have been damaged or totally destroyed by the earthquake. Trying to clear rubble and rebuild structures is the main challenge for communities across Nepal and ShelterBox is doing everything possible to reach remote areas and bring some hope to those who have survived.
Rotary Clubs across Ireland and the UK raise around £1.5 million each year for ShelterBox and some Rotarians are ShelterBox Response Team Members who travel to disaster areas and provide hands on help during time of need. ShelterBox needs support NOW to be able to continue supplying shelter kits to the people of Nepal.

The people of Nepal are overwhelmed by the scale of this disaster that has devastated their people and their country. This is one of biggest humanitarian crises that the world has known in a long time. All funds collected will support ShelterBox as they strive to help almost 3,000,000 people who have lost their homes and have nowhere to shelter after this dreadful earthquake.
Please join us in Wexford on Saturday, 16th May and make a difference to the people of Nepal.
