The response from the public to Rotary Wexford’s appeal for bicycles and other items to be brought to Wexford Enterprise Centre Car Park on Saturday 27th September was overwhelming. Many families called by with bicycles, clothes, toys, computers, seed trays and most importantly school copy books, pencils/pens and reading material. People were so generous and we are so very grateful to everybody for the tremendous support we received. We will keep you updated on when the container will be shipped and when it will arrive in Gambia. We have been speaking and corresponding with Fr Sean Devereux and needless to say he is so appreciative of all of our efforts.
God Bless the work and thank you one and all.
Message from Fr Sean Devereux
“It certainly seems that the project has gone very well thanks to the efforts and support of Rotary Wexford. I am deeply grateful to Rotary for your support and for the opportunity given to me to address your organisation earlier in the summer. I am humbled by the huge support that there is in Wexford for our work here in The Gambia. The generosity of people should never be underestimated even when times are hard at home. I look forward to thanking people when I come home next summer.
Again, many thanks for your support and for all the hard work.
Regards Sean”
